There’s a strong possibility that these higher prices will remain in effect for years, and quite possibly permanently …
9to5Mac readers were already skeptical about Apple ever reducing prices even if the component shortages ease. More than two-thirds of you said you expected the increases to be permanent.
A subsequent analyst report suggested that there won’t be any improvement in supply-chain pricing before 2028, and even that will be limited in effect. It seems pretty clear that the far higher pricing in place today will last for years as a minimum, and quite possibly won’t ever be reverted.
Assuming that does indeed turn out to be the case, how will you respond? Will you just grit your teeth and continue buying Apple products at the same rate? Will you reduce the number or frequency of your Apple purchases? Or will you take other steps, like buying less expensive models, buying refurbs, or waiting for sales?
Please take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments. The poll allows you to make multiple selections if you will change your purchasing behavior in more than one way.
