Parkridge Health System, part of HCA Healthcare, announced Nicholas Pounder, M.S., as the chief executive officer of Parkridge East Hospital. Mr. Pounder joins Parkridge East Hospital from TriStar Southern Hills Medical Center in Nashville, where he most recently served as chief operating officer and ethics and compliance officer.

"His operational expertise, commitment to developing people and passion for serving patients make him an excellent fit to lead Parkridge East Hospital into its next chapter."

Since joining HCA Healthcare in 2023, he has advanced through several leadership roles, including director of medical staff services and co-ethics and compliance officer, vice president of operations and, most recently, chief operating officer.

Throughout his career, Mr. Pounder has focused on operational excellence, colleague engagement and patient-centered care while focusing on strengthening organizational culture and improving access to care.

Mr. Pounder earned a Master of Science in healthcare administration from Lipscomb University and a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology from Mississippi State University. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves in leadership roles with several professional and community organizations.
