A MAN HAS been charged to court after he attempted to stab a PSNI officer with a long, sharp item” at a hospital in Co Antrim.
The incident took place at the hospital in Antrim on Friday, 19 June.
The 53-year-old man has been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm with intent, assault on police and possession of an offensive weapon with attempt.
He is due to appear before Coleraine Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
A PSNI spokesperson said the officer “narrowly escaped serious injury”.
