Developer Unfrozen shared a new HoMM: Olden Era video in which the team is interviewing Jon Van Caneghem. Jon Van Caneghem was involved in the creation of firection of several franchises, but most importantly he had been instrumental for the Might & Magic RPG series, Heroes of Might and Magic and King’s Bounty. Basically, he had been there since the beginning, and took part in almost every step of the games’ history.

“A while ago we have revealed that we are partnering up with the legendary Jon Van Caneghem — creator of the Might and Magic series — to work together on Olden Era. Today we’d like to reveal our interview where we asked him some various questions about the series and what passions & hobbies drove Mr Caneghem to create it, leading to years of insight and experience in the industry that we could draw knowledge from to make the game even more in tune with the classic formula!

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era promises a return to the origins of the legendary saga, inviting both veterans and new players alike to explore Jadame, a mysterious continent in turmoil. The game will offer three single-player modes: Campaign, Randomly Generated Map and Skirmish. There are also three multiplayer modes to enjoy: Classic Mode, One-Hero Mode & Arena.

There will be six factions in Early Access: Temple (Classic Knights), Necropolis (Undead and Vampires), Sylvan (Nature and Fey Folk), Dungeon (Dark Elves and Underground Creatures), Hive (Demonic Insectoids), and the Schism, the sixth mysterious faction. The devs plan to expand the list in the future updates and DLC.
