Dubbed the DH810S, the new mini PC sports a slightly different I/O configuration, and is powered by Core Ultra 200S desktop CPUs from Intel paired with up to 96 GB of RAM.
Spotted by LinuxGizmos, it appears that Shuttle has introduced a new variant of its previously launched XPC Slim DH810 mini PC aimed primarily at industrial applications. Like its predecessor, the new DH810S also sports support for desktop-class Intel Arrow Lake CPUs with up to 96 GB of DDR5 RAM.
However, where the new DH810S starts to differ happens to be its I/O setup, which has been downgraded quite noticeably compared to its higher-end sibling. The detailed I/O is as follows:
Clearly, the new DH810S mini PC sports fewer serial and networking ports while increasing DisplayPort outputs to two instead of just one, at the cost of its predecessors' USB4 port.
Key specifications, as mentioned earlier, remain identical. This includes the LGA 1851 socket with support for 65-watt Core Ultra 200 "Arrow Lake-S" CPUs with up to a whopping 24 cores. Memory requirements are still handled by dual SODIMM slots, which can be maxed out with two 48 GB sticks.
To be more specific, the highest-end 65-watt Arrow Lake-S chip, the Core Ultra 9 285, is only around 7% slower than its full-fledged 125-watt unlocked sibling, the Ultra 9 285K (currently $495 on Amazon). It is completely understandable why Shuttle decided to go with the 65-watt limitation, given that the DH810S, like the DH810, is only around 1.35 liters in volume.
The mini PC's compact nature does not necessitate any major drawbacks, as the system continues to boast a dual-fan setup for active cooling, as well as a 2.5-inch drive bay that can house SSDs and HDDs. For M.2 enthusiasts, an M.2 2280 slot is also present with support for PCIe Gen 4.0 x4 NVMe drives.
Wireless networking, like the previous model, can be taken care of with an M.2 2230 module for WiFi and Bluetooth. 4G connectivity is also possible, albeit only by populating the lone 2.5-inch bay, leaving only the M.2 2280 slot for storage.
Like most mini PCs aimed at industrial usage, pricing details of the Shuttle XPC Slim DH810S are not disclosed publicly. To know more about the system or to receive a quotation, potential customers are requested to reach out to Shuttle directly.
