Vitamix released the Vitamix Nano, a personal blender that comes with adaptive technology. Here's what Forbes Vetted thinks so far after using the blender at home.
Vitamix is re-entering the personal blender market with its latest release: the Vitamix Nano.
Announced on Aug. 24, the Vitamix Nano is a single-serve blender that comes with two 20-ounce BPA-free cups. While its design is similar to those of other personal blenders on the market, the Vitamix Nano comes with adaptive blending abilities, meaning it automatically adjusts the speed and blend time based on activity inside the cup. The brand calls this SmoothiePilot technology.
The Vitamix Nano marks the brand's entrance in the personal blender market.

“It’s crafted with the care and durability people expect from Vitamix and delivers exceptional results with every blend thanks to our new SmoothiePilot technology,” Laura Ostenkamp, vice president of sales and marketing at Vitamix, said in a press release announcing the new product. “In short, perfect blends every time with no guess work required.”

Beyond its adaptive technology, the Vitamix Nano also features a 1000-watt motor and a compact footprint that measures at just 15 inches high.
The Vitamix Nano is not the brand’s first venture into personal blenders. The Ohio-based company previously had a model named the S50 that, while considered a single-serve blender, had a larger footprint than its newest release and the aesthetic of a regular Vitamix blender. It has since been discontinued.
Our First Impressions Of The Vitamix NanoForbes Vetted got an early look at the Vitamix Nano to see how its SmoothiePilot technology delivers, and while I am in the early stages of testing this personal blender, its blending performance has been impressive so far.
The first thing I noticed upon unpacking was the small footprint, which was a welcomed sight in our crowded kitchen. It easily can be stored away in cabinetry and doesn’t require the heft to move it that our regular blender does. While the Vitamix Nano comes with a quick start guide on how to use the blender, assembly is largely intuitive and can be put together in seconds. The stainless steel blades and solid build of the blender gave the quick impression that the Vitamix Nano delivers the same quality and power for which the brand is known.
While Forbes Vetted is in the early stages of tested the Forbes Nano, we have been impressed so far.
AMY MORAN FOR FORBES
Making smoothies is a daily routine in our household (and often the only way I get vegetables into my daughters’ diets), so I put it to the test with our regular recipe, which includes frozen fruits, leafy greens and protein powders. I turned it on, and instead of standing there carefully listening to detect if the frozen strawberries had in fact been blended thoroughly, I let the Vitamix Nano use its SmoothiePilot technology to determine when the drink would be ready. The blender ran for less than a minute before stopping on its own. When I poured the smoothie into my daughter’s cup, it was smooth and perfectly blended, without a strawberry piece or powder clump in sight.
We plan to continue testing the Vitamix Nano over time to assess its long-term performance and adaptive blending technology. Based on our initial experience, it’s a promising option for anyone looking for a compact personal blender that can handle substantial smoothie ingredients without taking up much space.
