Diablo this is not. I'd qualify the game as a beautiful mess.
However, I am very fond of this game's style. It has a certain charm to it. I have an appreciation for games that have a core theme song. And that song is both part of the marketing and used within the game in a non-typical fashion. Such as having in-game npcs either humming the tune and/or playing the song, much like Poets of the Fall - Late Goodbye with Max Payne 2.
Although it's caught in some early-2000's game design. The inability to respec is absolutely brutal. One wrong click in either your inventory or skill screen and you might ruin your build, lol. "What, you've been playing for several hours and don't want to start over?" Too bad.
Ugh. Now I remember why it took so long to get all the achievements during the original release of the game.
I'm currently going with a ranged Dryad. It's pretty easy to focus on Tactics Lore as a skill to max. But all the others skills are the "spend the minimum to unlock this" or "spend x-amount to unlock that" kind of min-maxing. Again, one wrong click and your OCD will trigger.
