The 2026 1500 Tungsten is Ram’s new flagship, the trim that sits above Limited and Limited Longhorn.

Under the hood of this $90,000 truck there is the 3.0-liter Hurricane High-Output, a twin-turbo inline-six making 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. Paired with an eight-speed automatic and standard four-wheel drive with a low-range transfer case, the Tungsten pulls like it means it, whether that is a boat out of a Coconut Grove ramp or just away from a red light on Lejeune Road.

Step inside and the truck quietly drops its blue-collar disguise entirely. The front seats offer twenty-four-way power adjustment with heating and ventilation, and the rear seats get heating and ventilation, too. The Crew Cab also gets class-exclusive reclining rear seats, with best-in-class legroom that will make your Escalade-driving friends jealous.

There is stitched leather in colorways that look plucked from a Design District showroom, and a Klipsch sound system with 23 speakers.

There are more than 50 inches of combined screen real estate between the 14.5-inch Uconnect touchscreen, the passenger display, and the head-up display.

The 2026 RAM 1500 Tungsten is less “work truck” and more rolling penthouse, and for South Florida buyers who cross-shop pickups against luxury SUVs, that is precisely the point. But it still carries all the bona fides truck fans look for, like big Ram logos on the steering wheel and the exterior shell. I also like the panoramic moonroof, which really allows the driver and passengers to enjoy Miami’s beautiful sky during the day and at night.

Even with all the bells and whistles of luxury, the truck bed feels solid and dependable, which is a big selling point. This is a Ram 1500 at the end of the day, and it has to perform like one at a moment’s notice.

Practicality has not been forgotten, even if it plays second fiddle here. The 5-foot-7 bed has plenty of space, with fuel economy that checks in at 15 miles per gallon in the city and 21 mpg on the highway, about what you would expect from something hauling this much horsepower and this much chrome. The 33-gallon tank means fewer stops between here and the Redland. And the 22-inch wheels soak up Miami’s patchwork of potholed side streets with ease.

The truck is a looker. I love the molten red pearl exterior paint, which really stands out. The chrome throughout even extends to the power-fold trailer-tow mirrors, which tells you the engineers paid attention to the details that sell a vehicle.
