Britain, France, and Germany condemned the Iran regime’s attacks on commercial shipping and neighboring states, while the European Union, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Arab League called for protecting freedom of navigation and respecting international law.

International pressure on the Iranian regime intensified this week as European and regional organizations issued coordinated condemnations of its attacks on commercial shipping and neighboring countries, while rejecting any attempt to impose restrictions or fees on vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

The statements reflect growing concern over the regime’s actions in one of the world’s most strategically important waterways, where disruptions threaten both regional security and global trade.

In a joint statement, Germany, France, and the United Kingdom condemned what they described as the Iran regime’s reckless attacks against commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz and neighboring countries.

The three European governments specifically condemned attacks targeting Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, and Jordan, while calling for the immediate restoration of normal commercial shipping through the vital maritime corridor.

The statement underscored the importance of maintaining freedom of navigation and preventing further escalation in the Gulf.

Speaking after a meeting of EU foreign ministers, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Kaja Kallas stated that imposing charges or tolls on ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz is unacceptable.

She stressed that the waterway must remain open and that freedom of navigation should be fully respected, adding that no party should be allowed to demand payment or impose restrictions on international maritime traffic.

Kallas also announced that EU foreign ministers would meet with representatives from the Gulf Arab states to discuss regional security and ways to prevent further escalation.

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also issued one of its strongest condemnations of the Iran regime’s recent actions.

According to Jordan’s official Petra news agency, the OIC denounced attacks against Jordan, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain, describing them as repeated violations of the sovereignty of member states and of the principles of good neighborly relations.

In its statement, the OIC further condemned the regime’s repeated targeting of commercial shipping and interference with international trade, calling these actions clear violations of international law, the United Nations Charter, and the OIC Charter.

The Arab League likewise condemned the Iran regime’s continued attacks against several Arab countries.

Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit reaffirmed the League’s full solidarity with Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Jordan, and urged the United Nations Security Council to take effective measures to halt the regime’s violations and ensure respect for international law and the security of global maritime navigation.

The coordinated statements from the European Union, the E3, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Arab League demonstrate an increasingly unified international response to the Iran regime’s destabilizing activities in the Gulf.

By emphasizing freedom of navigation, respect for state sovereignty, and adherence to international law, these organizations have reinforced growing diplomatic pressure on Tehran while signaling broad opposition to any attempt by the regime to use the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of political coercion or regional intimidation.
