May 16 was a day of firsts at Rhode Island’s Centreville Bank Stadium: the Women’s Lacrosse League played its first-ever regular-season games after two shortened championship series, while the Premier Lacrosse League played its first games in the Ocean State. Former Boston College star and Boston Guard attack Charlotte North scored the first regular-season goal in WLL history, and the Boston Cannons rallied to a 19-5 win over the Philadelphia Waterdogs for their first win of the year.
