But during Sunday night's commitment ceremony, Billy blasted back, taking his 'wife' to task for her 'bullying' behaviour.
'I've seen dogs being shown more respect than what you show me!' the 28-year-old barista told Susie, before he was left stunned when she spectacularly chose to 'stay' in their relationship.

As the couple sat down in front of the show's 'relationship experts', Billy didn't hold back in expressing how he was feeling.
He stated: 'Things have deteriorated... I think I've been suppressing my personality quite a bit. To the point I'm not actually being true to myself. I think that the communication has broken down… in the sense that, there is no communication. It's a bit of a standoff.'
Susie seemed somewhat surprised, insisting that she has been trying her hardest in the relationship.
'Not once have I lost my head or spoken to him in a rude manner,' she told the 'experts'.

When it came time to decide whether she wanted to 'stay' or 'leave' their relationship, Susie cooed: 'I had such a wonderful time at Billy's house last week that I only think its fair that we get to go forward and hopefully he can come to mine.'
She then flipped her card to revealed that she wanted to 'stay' with Billy.
Billy appeared stunned and somewhat terrified by the decision, with his eyes cast towards the floor.

Billy then revealed he had voted to 'leave' the relationship, explaining: 'I can sense just a bit of resentment from her towards me... I see her being so beautiful with other people – and I just don't feel like I get that same approach.'
However, according to Married At First Sight rules, unless both people choose to 'leave' the relationship, the pair must stay on and try to make their marriage work.
In a subsequent piece-to-camera, Billy appeared distraught at the thought of having to spend another week with Susie.

'You're lying,' raged Susie, after Billy said he hadn't surfed for a 'couple of years' - despite previously admitting it had been a 'couple of months' since he hit the waves.
'You're a liar and I have to deal with it. You're getting called out and you don't like it. You've lied to me and you're not honest.... you talk s***.'
Susie also raged at Billy for saying he had sweetener in his pantry for her cup of coffee, before realising his flatmate had used the last of it.

Billy responded: 'If I lied to you and I was cheating on you, yes we'd have a problem, but this is ridiculous.'
Susie continued her furious rant at her 'husband' and said he was 'misleading'.
Billy hit back: 'I don't like being treated like I'm worthless and a piece of s***.'
He then stormed off the beach and began sobbing in the bushes.
'I'm trying really f***ing hard for this, I'm really f***ing trying. I just want this to work,' he complained.
