Atomic macOS Stealer (AMOS) remains one of the most prevalent macOS infostealers in the wild. It frequently serves as the initial entry point for broader network compromise. Late last year, in December 2025, multiple researchers observed malvertising and “ClickFix” style campaigns abusing AI share links such as shared ChatGPT or Grok conversations to trick users into pasting a malicious one-liner into their macOS Terminal. By January 2026, our tracking showed AMOS delivery via sponsored search results persisted, but the lures had shifted away from AI share links toward more traditional utility-focused schemes.
