If I ever need to perk myself up, I think of the Polanskimania that swept gentrified Britain in September last year. The kind of leftist who genuinely believes his mate Geoff is a lesbian was babbling about Polanski as if were the only hope for ‘Fascist Britain’. Where most of us saw an outsized theatre kid with weird teeth and mad ideas, these cloistered radicals saw the saviour of a nation. It was properly nuts.

A year on, I think it’s fair to say the doubters have been vindicated. That we were right to watch with alarm as a party of annoying but harmless badger sponsors was turned into a party of bonafide wankers who call fascist pogroms ‘resistance’ and men flashing their cocks ‘trans rights’. I never thought I’d feel nostalgic for Caroline Lucas’s plummy lectures about Earth’s fiery demise, yet here we are.

Every generation before ours would have marvelled at the undiluted ridiculousness of Zack Polanski. This is the man who thinks it’s police brutality to kick a scumbag who’d just stabbed two Jews, but fine for armed cops to arrest a comedian for making a joke about transwomen’s bollocks. A man who yaps about ‘women’s rights’ but would happily compel nurses to undress in the company of a weirdo in dodgy boxer shorts. A man who slams the ‘politics of hate’ yet whose party has people in it who called Jews ‘cockroaches’ and whooped with delight when Jews were raped and murdered by Islamofascists.

Polanski and his pink-haired acolytes sum up the moral contortionism of wokeness. This is the bourgeois movement that poses as kind and progressive, yet which calls women ‘cunts’ for not wanting to see an estrogen-shrivelled knob in their changing rooms and brands Jews as ‘Zio filth’ if they believe in a Jewish homeland. You almost have to admire the shamelessness of a left that dolls up such bigotry in the finery of ‘anti-fascism’. It’s so brazen, so artfully sinister.

For me, Polanski’s most shameful moment was when he wondered out loud if Jews in the UK really do face a heightened threat or are merely suffering from a ‘perception of unsafety’. He said that following a historic spike in anti-Semitic incidents. And after two Jews were killed at a synagogue in Manchester. And in the wake of attempted firebombings at synagogues across London. If he’d said it about any other minority under attack, he’d have been shamed from polite society. But Jews count for shit among the radical middle classes where Zack has made his bed, so he was fine.

At root, Polanski-ism – LOL – represents the revenge of the entitled. He’s the spirit leader of a graduate left that watched with disgust as the oiks voted for Brexit and as they revolted against the diktats of a credentialled elite that thinks borders are fascism and womanhood is a myth. Under Polanski, the Green Party has become a blunt cudgel of the privileged, their prime weapon for beating Brexit to a pulp, dragging us back into the EU, restoring the trans tyranny following various legal setbacks, and allowing even more unvetted blokes from iffy countries where women are treated like cattle to rock up on our shores.

These people pose as champions of the working class, yet zealously devote themselves to undoing every moral win made by working people these past 10 years. They wang on about ‘class war’ in their Dalston eateries when the only class war taking place is their own bitter, vindictive campaign to muzzle the little people who believe sovereignty is good and Britain is great – or used to be.

Polanski really gave the game away on Question Time when he said he loves mass immigration because, ‘I don’t know about you, but I don’t particularly want to wipe someone’s bum’. There you have it. Sell off British sovereignty so that Zack Polanski will never have to wipe an old person’s arse. Bring in an army of arse-cleaners to spare the overeducated left the indignity of ever having to see a frail relative’s rectum. To hell with Britain’s hard-won sovereign rights – we want freedom from shite! Rarely has the narcissism and nihilism of what hilariously passes for left-wing thought been so grossly on display.
