Swiss skincare house La Prairie is running a spa residence at Bloomingdale’s 59th Street flagship in New York.
Open through the end of October, the pop-up is built around the brand’s new Swiss Pristine collection and offers a facial paired with diagnostic technology that reads hydration and hyperpigmentation levels. It sits inside Hotel Bloomingdale’s, a newly launched concept recasting the department store as a destination modeled on luxury hospitality and wellness.
“We are thrilled to partner with Bloomingdale’s to support their hotel-inspired immersive program this fall season and offer their clients an exclusive spa service and pop-up experience celebrating our new Swiss Pristine collection,” said Nicholas Munafo, president of North America at La Prairie, in a statement.
Skin under pressure
The Swiss Pristine facial is aimed at the visible signs of modern fatigue — fine lines, enlarged-looking pores, roughness, dullness, uneven tone and redness — and at supporting the skin barrier. The collection behind it was developed around the effects of contemporary routines on skin, from travel and pollution to lack of sleep and digital overload.
The three-step ritual is built on Swiss Glacial Minerals, the brand’s patented HyPower LP52 and its Exclusive Cellular Complex.

The residence is not the brand’s only footprint in the building. La Prairie keeps a permanent boutique and treatment cabin on the ground floor, where its broader treatment menu and other signature facials are available.
“Bloomingdale’s 59th Street is one of our top doors in New York City, and this partnership reflects our shared commitment to creating exceptional luxury experiences,” Mr. Munafo said.
Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Zurich, La Prairie sells in more than 70 countries. It ran a seasonal treatment suite in Montauk, New York, this summer (see story).
