They have now won the title three times, following wins in 2022 and 2023. The men finished fifth, and the club were narrowly pipped to the title of the winning combined male and female team by the host club Marshall Milton Keynes AC.

Team captain Claire Smith said: “We were delighted to win the women's title again. It just goes to show what a small, but mighty team we have, with everyone giving their best and filling gaps to put in a fantastic team performance. The men's team had a tougher battle and were unlucky in a few events, meaning we just missed out on the combined team prize, but it was still a great team effort and a really enjoyable day. Lots of personal bests, season's bests and league records on the day as well."

Judith Jagger played a huge part in the PANVAC victory by winning six over 60 events. Her successful day began with the high jump in which she cleared 1.15m. Jagger’s run of success continued in the 300m hurdles which she won in a time of 1:11.69. She then won the triple jump with a 7.34m leap.

Jagger moved on to throwing events in the afternoon, winning the discus with a throw of 25.27m before finishing first in the shot with a distance of 8.11m. She had also won the javelin earlier in the day with a 19.59m throw.

Kelly Sutton helped PANVAC dominate the over 50 sprints. She clocked 54.58 to win the 300m hurdles. She then won the 100m in a time of 13.95 along with the 200m in which she clocked 28.85. Team captain Smith stepped down from the over 50 age group to compete as an over 35. She had a good day winning the 400m in 1:04.98 and finishing runner-up in the 100 and 200m.

Ace over 50 thrower Andrea Jenkins, also stepped down to the over 35 age group while competing in the throwing events and finished runner up in all four. The highlight of her day was a win in the over 50 high jump with a 1.10m clearance.

Elisabeth Sennitt Clough was the winner of the over 50 1,500m in a time of 5:46.35 with Ros Loutit winning the over 60 race in 5:57.37. Loutit also won the 3,000m with a 12:52.45 clocking. Kayleigh Longfoot was the winner of the over 35 race with a time of 11:27.94. She also won the 800m with a 2:35.74 clocking. Sennitt Clough was runner-up in the over 50 3,000m

The relay teams made it a total of 16 wins for the PANVAC ladies winning both the over 35 and over 50 races.

It wasn't all about event winners with the rest of the team picking up valuable points. Sally Pusey took part in all four over 50 throwing events and finished third in the discus and hammer. Sam Eve-Marsh took second place in the over 35 400m hurdles, and scored valuable points in the long jump and triple jump.

Kay Gibson, and Betty Gash scored valuable points in the over 60 age group, as did over 50 Nicky Morgan and over 35 Nichola Gibson. Wendy Day finished second in the over 50 400m and third in the long jump.

Although the men missed out on the medals, finishing fifth, they won four events, with Simon Achurch first in the over 50 shot and discus with throws of 11.98 and 38.33m.

Jon Spriggs won the over 70 long jump with a distance of 3.25m. Julian Smith was first over the line in the over 50 200m, running a time of 26.62.

Sean Reidy took part in four over 35 events with the highlight being a second place finish in the 400m hurdles.

ROUND-UP Bushfield’s Eric Winstone took part in a midweek 5k race at Battersea Park finishing with a time of 25:17. The 75 year-old was the leading over 60.

Oliver Mason of PANVAC ran 38:17.31 in the British Masters 10,000m Championship. The race also took place in Battersea Park.

PAMVAC's Louie Hemmings ran a 4:10.69 1,500 at the FLYCARB meeting in Cambridge. The time was just a second outside his personal best..
