Alibaba's Qwen team will create models ranging from 5 trillion to 10 trillion parameters, said its CEO, Eddie Wu. Alibaba announced that its next-generation Qwen 4 is already in training and that further scaling of Qwen 4.5 and Qwen 5 is coming.

The Zhenwu V900 is engineered to boost performance on hefty AI tasks. Alibaba has announced it can deliver three times the performance of the previous Zhenwu M890 chip, which was launched in May 2026.

Alongside its chips and AI models, Alibaba is expanding its cloud infrastructure. Alibaba Cloud's goal is to expand its data centres globally to over 20 gigawatts by 2032, Wu said.
