Kids Art Box, a Chattanooga-based company inspiring creativity in children through hands-on art experiences, is celebrating a major milestone in its growth with the opening of a new, larger facility at 2000 Chestnut Street.

Founded by Chattanooga mom of three Melanie Phillips and her husband, Nick Phillips, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kids Art Box began as a small business run from their home and has since grown into a thriving company with a team of 15 employees. The company will celebrate the expansion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. on Sept. 9, bringing together community partners, employees and supporters to celebrate Kids Art Box’s continued success in Chattanooga.

Kids Art Box has outgrown its previous warehouse space as demand for its products and art experiences continues to grow, from families at home to educators and schools nationwide. The new facility provides significantly more room for inventory, operations and the company’s growing team, while giving Kids Art Box the space to continue building its business and creating new opportunities in Chattanooga.

“Growth is an exciting challenge to have, and we reached a point where we simply needed more room to support our team and our future,” said Kids Art Box CEO Melanie Phillips. “We’re proud to continue growing right here in Chattanooga. This community has been an important part of our success, and this new facility gives us the space we need today while positioning us for what’s ahead.”

The new facility will also bring the creativity and imagination that define Kids Art Box into the company's new home. Plans include a large, colorful mural on the building, adding an artistic presence to the company's new location in downtown Chattanooga.
