This actress looked unrecognizable when she was spotted in a rare sighting in Los Angeles earlier this week.

The 83-year-old film and television star got her big break in the 1960s, when she scored early roles opposite screen legends including Clint Eastwood, Henry Fonda and Burt Reynolds.

The actress, who hails from Canada, went on to star in several acclaimed films in the '70s, but stepped away completely from movies after the early '80s.

Instead, she focused on television and had one of her biggest roles on a hit sitcom that ran for six seasons.

In an unexpected twist, she played the wife of her real-life husband, who took his own surprising path to Hollywood.

She's former screen sensation Susan Clark.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Clark's representatives for comment but has not yet received a response. 

Clark was spotted while out for lunch in LA, before she made a trip to the grocery store.

She looked vibrant in a multicolored floral blouse that she paired with a black-and-red jacket.

Clark topped off her summery look with a wide-brimmed hat to block out the piercing sun.

The Canadian actress, who was born Nora Golding and grew up in Toronto, Ontario, began appearing on stage in her teens, before moving to the UK to study acting at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London.

It was while in London that Clark got her start on television with small roles on British TV shows, including The Benny Hill Show and The Sentimental Agent.

In 1965, she moved back to Canada, and by 1967 she scored a contract with Universal Pictures that helped elevate her career to a new level.

She made her feature film debut that year in the sports drama Banning, which starred Robert Wagner and Gene Hackman.

By 1968, she was booking bigger roles that put her opposite screen legends like Henry Fonda and Richard Widmark (in 1968's Madigan) and younger superstars like Clint Eastwood (in Coogan's Bluff, from the same year).

Clark had graduated from smaller supporting roles to playing the romantic lead by the time she and Eastwood appeared in Coogan's Bluff, but she would continue to play supporting roles with major stars like Robert Redford in 1969's Tell Them Willie Boy Is Here.

The actress worked with Burt Lancaster multiple times in the early '70s on the adventure film Skullduggery (1970), and a year later on Valdez Is Coming.

Clark became a major box office draw by the middle of the '70s after appearing in the blockbuster disaster film Airport 1975 (1974) and the hit Disney comedy The Apple Dumpling Gang (1975).

She even reunited with one of her early costars, Gene Hackman, now that both were box office draws, in the classic mystery thriller Night Moves (1975).

But Clark stepped back from the big screen and began focusing on the small screen just as she was at the height of her career.

 In 1975, she played the athlete Babe Didrikson Zaharias in the made-for-TV movie Babe, which earned her an Emmy Award.

The following year, she played the title aviator in the 1976 TV movie Amelia Earhart, which earned her an Emmy nomination.

Clark went on to play the title character in a TV movie adaptation of Hedda Gabler in 1978, and it wasn't until 1979 that she began appearing in films after a four-year absence.

Although she appeared in several other movies in the late '70s and early '80s, her final film appearance would end up being in 1981's sex comedy Porky's.

From then on, Clark devoted herself to television, and in 1983 she landed one of her most popular roles as Katherine Calder-Young Papadopoulos on Webster.

The series had an unusual family connection, as Clark's on-screen husband was played by her real-life husband, Alex Karras, who died in 2012 at 77. 

Karras had played for the Detroit Lions as a defensive tackle from 1958 to 1970, before he transitioned to acting in later years. 

The two had met when they starred together in 1975's Babe, in which he played her character's husband. The lovebirds tied the knot in 1980 and welcomed their only child, a daughter, in the same year.

After Webster ended in 1989, Clark made sporadic appearances in the '90s in TV movies, before ending her on-screen career with a main cast role on the Canadian TV series Emily of New Moon, which aired from 1998 through 2000.

After stepping away from the screen, Clark continued to act on stage well into the 2000s.
