A Florida mother learned her missing teenage son was found safe during a press conference with the sheriff while pleading for help finding him. 

Benjamin Adcock, 16, who is diagnosed with schizophrenia and has autism, was last seen walking away from his family's house in St. Augustine on Saturday.

The St. Johns County Sheriff's Office mobilized all resources, including searching on foot, with K9 teams, drones, helicopters and assistance from a volunteer civilian search group to look for the teen.

After two days of searching, his mother, Olga, held a press conference with the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office (SJSO) on Monday. 

As Sheriff Robert Hardwick was delivering an update on the case, someone off camera interrupted to say, 'They found him.'

'Oh my goodness gracious. Okay,' the sheriff said, then turned to hug the pink-clad mother.

'Praise the Lord. Oh, my soul. Wow. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Thank you so much,' Adcock's mother said while becoming emotional.

The sheriff then continued to comfort the mother, promising to help get the teen a tracking device.

'It makes you want to cry, for goodness sake. That's the best outcome that could actually happen right now: to have a mom next to you right now who says, "God is good," right? It doesn't get better than that,' Hardwick said.

Adcock was located by someone on Monday who recognized him from his photo on social media, according to SJSO.

'This is a citizen, paying attention, not afraid to call the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office and bringing a 16-year-old boy home to his mom, Olga,' Hardwick said.

While Adcock is in good health and receiving medical care, the sheriff's office said they are still seeking information about the teen's whereabouts while he was missing between September 12 and September 14.

His last known sighting was of him crossing SR 207 southbound at noon Saturday, and search efforts were focused near the Epic Theater plaza.

He is 5'11", weighs 160 pounds, and was last seen wearing black cotton shorts and a gray T-shirt.

Those with information on where Adcock might have been for two days are asked to contact the St. Johns County Sheriff's Office.
