Cost-Effectiveness of Fecal Immunochemical Testing

To the Editor The recent cost-effectiveness study by Dr Lee and colleagues provided important evidence supporting integrated gastric and colorectal cancer prevention through Helicobacter pylori stool antigen (HPSA) and fecal immunochemical test (FIT) co-testing. Co-testing with HPSA and FIT may offer a promising and economically attractive strategy in populations with high incidence of both gastric and colorectal cancers. Beyond demonstrating the potential value of this approach, the Taiwanese experience may also provide valuable lessons for countries seeking to strengthen cancer prevention programs.
