Controversial football star Tyreek Hill left fans fearing the worst for his NFL return after he shared an alarming update on his horrific knee injury. 

The former Miami Dolphins superstar remains without a team just weeks ahead of training camp as he continues a grueling rehabilitation process.

Hill suffered a catastrophic knee injury that included extensive damage to his MCL, ACL, PCL and patella - marking one of the most severe setbacks a player can endure.

While the wide receiver has not ruled out a comeback, he didn't instill confidence in fans as he shared the latest on his recovery this week. 

The 32-year-old posted a YouTube video Wednesday night that showed him working out as he discussed his recovery process. 

'So it's about 10 months after doing two surgeries,' Hill said. 'My left leg is the one that I injured. I have no power in my left leg, so I'm trying to regain all the power back in my left leg. But it's one day at a time.' 

He said that he was told there had been a chance that he 'might not be able to walk again' in the aftermath of the injury but insisted that he was on the mend. 

He filmed himself carrying out a range of exercises, including some short running, which he claimed he was not supposed to be doing 'but I like to challenge myself a little bit.'

The Dolphins released the eight-time Pro Bowler in February following the end of the 2025 season, making him a free agent for the first time in his career. 

At the time, the wideout vowed that he would make a return, saying: 'The Cheetah will be back.' 

However, earlier this month, Bleacher Report's James Palmer delivered a grim outlook on the speedster's availability for the upcoming season.

'There still is, to my understanding, no guarantee that Tyreek Hill plays in 2026,' Palmer revealed. 'I think it's wishful thinking'.

According to Palmer, the brief rehabilitation clips posted by Hill will not be enough to convince front offices to take a gamble and offer him a contract.

Interested teams will reportedly require extensive medical evaluations and want to see the receiver running full-speed drills before extending an offer.

Given the sickening nature of the multi-ligament tear, medical experts and observers had initially projected a potential midseason return as the best-case scenario.

Because Hill's entire game heavily relies on his world-class, breakaway speed, any lingering physical limitations from the injury could severely impact his market value.

If Hill can somehow defy the odds and prove his fitness later in the year, he is expected to be a highly coveted midseason addition for a Super Bowl contender.

Speculation has already linked the dynamic playmaker with a potential reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs, should they be chasing a deep playoff run late in the season.

However, until he can prove his knee is fully reconstructed and ready for the rigors of an NFL game, his immediate football future remains entirely up in the air.
