The genome sequence of a gelechiid moth, Gnorimoschema epithymella (Staudinger, 1859) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) [version 1; peer review: 1 approved]

We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of Gnorimoschema epithymella (Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Gelechiidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 660.36 megabases and 557.93 megabases. Most of the haplotype 1 assembly (99.45%) was scaffolded into 31 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the W and Z sex chromosomes. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.23 kilobases. This work is part of Project Psyche, a collaborative programme generating genomes for European butterflies and moths.
