BTS member Jungkook has added another major milestone to his growing solo career, with his debut solo single "Seven" featuring Latto officially receiving a Platinum certification in the United Kingdom.

The recognition from the British Phonographic Industry (BPI) reflects more than 600,000 combined sales and streams, further highlighting the song's lasting presence among UK listeners.

Released in July 2023, "Seven" marked a major step in Jungkook's transition from BTS member to solo artist. The track quickly gained international attention and has continued to attract listeners well beyond its initial release period.

'Seven' Reaches Another UK Milestone

"Seven" made an immediate impact on the UK Official Singles Chart, debuting at No. 3. At the time, the achievement marked the highest chart debut for a Korean soloist on the chart, underlining the scale of interest surrounding Jungkook's first official solo single.

The newly announced Platinum certification adds another significant achievement to the song's UK chart history. BPI certifications take into account consumption based on sales and streaming, with data from the Official Charts Company contributing to the recognition.

For Jungkook, the milestone demonstrates that "Seven" was not simply a song that generated a large opening-week audience. Its continued consumption over the years has helped it reach a level of recognition associated with some of the biggest international releases.

Streaming Giant Beyond Its Initial Success

The song's performance has extended far beyond the UK. "Seven" has become the first song by an Asian artist to surpass 3 billion streams on Spotify, placing it at No. 64 among the platform's most-streamed tracks.

Its run on Spotify's Weekly Top Songs Global chart has also been particularly notable. The track has remained on the chart for 153 weeks, highlighting the sustained interest it has received since its release.

"Seven" also opened at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, giving Jungkook his first chart-topper on the US singles chart as a solo artist. The song additionally dominated both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. US charts for seven consecutive weeks.

The single's international success has been accompanied by four Guinness World Records, adding further recognition to a release that has continued to set milestones across different music platforms and markets.

What the Certification Means for K-Pop Soloists?

The UK Platinum recognition also arrives at a time when K-pop's international presence has expanded beyond group releases. While BTS has already established a substantial global audience, Jungkook's performance as an individual artist demonstrates the potential for K-pop solo releases to maintain significant audiences across Western markets.

Unlike a short-lived surge surrounding a new release, the continued streaming activity around "Seven" points to a longer consumption cycle. The song has remained relevant to listeners years after its original release, allowing it to accumulate the numbers required for another major industry certification.

Its UK milestone adds another example of how K-pop artists are increasingly participating in mainstream music markets on an individual basis, rather than relying exclusively on the success of their groups.

ARMY Celebrates Jungkook's Achievement

News of the Platinum certification has prompted an enthusiastic response from BTS ARMY, with fans sharing congratulations and celebrating the latest addition to Jungkook's growing list of solo achievements.

For Jungkook, "Seven" has become more than a successful debut. Its chart performance, streaming milestones and industry recognition have established a substantial foundation for his solo career.

The song's continuing performance also keeps Jungkook visible as BTS members pursue their respective individual activities before the group's next chapter. As "Seven" continues to accumulate streams and reach new milestones, its journey demonstrates the lasting impact of Jungkook's first major solo release.
