The Chicago area is likely to feel some weather whiplash through the weekend and into the start of the week, the National Weather Service warned.
“A bit of a temperature roller coaster is in store through Tuesday,” NWS said in a post on social media on Saturday.
Saturday brought humid, 80-degree temperatures to the Chicago area, but a dip is in store for Sunday, when morning lows will drop into the low 60s.
There’s also likely to be some rain in the afternoon and evening on Sunday, however, any showers that roll through in the earlier hours are predicted to stay on the lighter side while temperatures should stay in the mid- to high 70s.
Officials also warned of dangerous swimming conditions that are expected to develop at Lake Michigan beaches in northwest Indiana on Sunday.
“Heads up! Dangerous swimming conditions are expected to develop at Indiana beaches from Sunday morning through the evening. Please plan accordingly if you’re heading to the beach! Stay dry when the waves are high!,” NWS said.
Quiet conditions will arrive late Sunday and continue through Monday morning, though another potential for storms pops up on Tuesday afternoon and into the evening, according to NWS.
