HDFC Bank Group Head-Legal and Group General Counsel Sudhir Kumar Jha retired from the bank after 22 years of association with the HDFC Group, effective September 30, 2026, HDFC Bank informed the exchanges on Wednesday.

Jha has also ceased to be a senior management personnel of the bank following his retirement, the lender said in an exchange filing.

The bank placed on record its appreciation for Jha’s services, saying he played an important role in strengthening its legal and compliance framework and ensuring effective management of legal risks.

Jha was associated with the HDFC Group for 22 years, including his tenure with Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd and HDFC Bank.

Jigar Shah to take over

As announced earlier, Jigar Shah, General Counsel-Designate, will take over as General Counsel of HDFC Bank from October 1, 2026, replacing Jha.
