MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. The Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, will visit Russia next month, Ambassador to Moscow Husaini Alauddin stated.

Speaking at the opening of an exhibition at the Russian Foreign Ministry dedicated to the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Brunei, the diplomat said: "Next month, His Majesty, the Sultan of Brunei, will visit Russia."

According to the ambassador, cooperation between the two countries has expanded in various areas over the past 35 years, including defense, energy, interparliamentary cooperation, sports, and religion. "And we believe that we need to continue deepening these ties. We hope to strengthen bilateral cooperation mechanisms in order to interact in a more substantive manner," he added.

The diplomat also emphasized that citizens of Russia and Brunei can visit each other’s countries without a visa. "This underscores the special significance of our relations. We are drawn to Russia not only by its landscapes, but also because we see that we share common values, something that sets you apart from other countries we visit," he noted.
