Lemonade Dolls' new Flex Collection replaces traditional underwires with an innovative flexible polymer design. I put the bra and briefs to the test to see whether comfort really comes without compromising on support.Despite the fact that next to nobody gets to see it, I love new underwear. There's something about a gorgeous matching set that makes you feel a little more put together, even if you're the only person who knows you're wearing it.
Of course, looking pretty is only half the battle. Underwear has to comfortable enough to wear all day, supportive without digging in and, ideally, something you barely notice once it's on. Lemonade Dolls' new Flex Collection promises to tick all those boxes.
I tested the Flex set in Aqua, a colourful combination of cool aqua, soft pink and zesty lime green that feels fresh and unmistakably Lemonade Dolls. It's also available in classic Black and Ivory.

The biggest talking point of the collection is undoubtedly the Flex Bra, £40. Rather than relying on a traditional metal underwire, it uses an innovative flexible polymer wire that bends with your body while still providing impressive shape and support.
It offers enough structure to create a flattering silhouette but never dug into my ribs or felt restrictive, making it comfortable enough to wear all day.
Alongside the Flex Bra, the range features two matching brief styles: the Flex Brief and the Flex V Brazilian, both £16 and made from silky-soft microfibre fabric with contrasting colour trims that give the collection its distinctive look.
The matching briefs are good. They have a flattering mid-rise fit and sit smoothly under clothing without rolling or digging in. The lightweight fabric creates the second-skin feeling Lemonade Dolls was aiming for, making them just as suitable for busy and active days as they are for lounging around in.
After the first wash, the set looked as good as new, with the colours remaining vibrant and the fabric retaining its softness. I'm hopeful it will continue to hold its shape over the coming months because it's already become a welcome addition to my underwear drawer.
Dozens of reviews have been left online by shoppers who are raving about how the collection manages to be pretty and comfortable as well as supportive - all at once. Customers particularly praise the lift and shape provided by the bra, with several impressed by how much support the flexible non-metal wire provides. One customer praised the coverage and said it created cleavage she hadn't realised she had, while another called the combination of support and cleavage "amazing".

Finding the right size could take a little trial and error. While my set fitted well, some online shoppers have reported needing to size up around the band, while others found the cups came up larger than expected. It's worth taking a close look at the size guide before ordering rather than automatically opting for your usual bra size.
It's also worth noting that Lemonade Dolls recommends hand washing the Flex Bra. That's not a deal-breaker for me, but if you're used to putting your everyday bras in the washing machine, it does require a little more care.
VerdictThere's always room for another pretty lingerie set in the underwear drawer and, let's face it, a girl can never have too many. The Aqua colourway in particular is gorgeous. The mix of cool aqua, soft pink and zingy lime makes it feel fun and fresh without being too young or overly girly, and it's a welcome splash of colour among the inevitable sea of black, white and nude underwear.
But pretty only gets lingerie so far. What makes the Flex Collection stand out for me is that it manages to combine those good looks with comfort. The flexible wire gives the bra proper shape and lift without the digging and pinching I normally associate with traditional underwires, while the soft briefs are the kind you can put on in the morning and not think about again.
At £40 for the bra and £16 for the briefs, it's not the cheapest everyday underwear, but neither does it feel like something destined to sit at the back of the drawer waiting for a special occasion. This is pretty lingerie you'll actually want to wear.
I’m been a fan of the brand for some time now. Rather than relying solely on polished lingerie campaigns, the brand regularly showcases real customers wearing its underwear across different ages, shapes and sizes. Shoppers are also invited to join focus groups and have their say on everything from fit and support to new launches, so there's a feeling that the people actually wearing the lingerie have a hand in what comes next. It's a refreshingly inclusive approach in an industry that hasn't always been particularly good at representing real bodies.
