Max Verstappen has spent the better part of his career testing just how far he can push the limits. The Dutch-Belgian Formula 1 star arrived on the grid at 17, became the sport’s youngest-ever race winner at 18, and has since collected four consecutive world championships, from 2021 through 2024, along with a pile of records and a reputation for driving about as aggressively as the rules allow. In 2023 alone, he won 19 of 23 races and strung together 10 victories in a row. He came within two points of a fifth title in 2025. Verstappen has spent his entire F1 career with Red Bull, first joining the team’s junior program before making his senior debut in 2016, and today is one of the most recognizable faces in the sport.

Off the track, Verstappen’s lifestyle is equally high-octane. He splits his time between the F1 circuit and Monaco, where he lives with his partner, Kelly Piquet, and their daughter, Lily. His long-running partnership with TAG Heuer has made him a fixture in the luxury watch world, while his taste in cars leans heavily toward the exotic and the very fast. He’s also taken that affinity for speed to the water and the sky, with a 33-meter Mangusta GranSport superyacht and a Dassault Falcon 8X private jet, both named Unleash The Lion. The jet is reportedly worth as much as $55 million, and estimates put Verstappen’s net worth somewhere between $200 million and $280 million.

So what does a 29-year-old four-time world champion do with all that horsepower and money? Start buying some seriously expensive real estate, naturally.

Monaco has been home base for Verstappen since 2015, and for years the driver rented a high-end apartment in Fontvieille, the waterfront neighborhood tucked along the principality’s western edge. Rather than spend the nearly $19 million reportedly needed to buy the place, Verstappen was said to be paying around $17,000 a month in rent. It’s an unsurprising address for an F1 driver, with the harbor just outside and the Grand Prix circuit minutes away. Lewis Hamilton also calls Fontvieille home, reportedly paying around $15 million for a residence there in the early 2010s. Verstappen eventually left his rental for a much flashier address elsewhere in Monaco.

Then came Mareterra. Verstappen has reportedly moved into Le Renzo, the Renzo Piano-designed residential building anchoring Monaco’s newest waterfront district, which was created on nearly 60 acres of reclaimed land. With just 47 residences, the building is very much aimed at the trophy-home crowd, offering expansive terraces and views over the Mediterranean. Reports have put Verstappen’s residence at around 70 million euros (or about $80 million), though neither the exact unit nor whether he owns or rents it has been confirmed publicly.

For a change of scenery, Verstappen and Piquet have reportedly bought a plot at Pinheirinho Comporta, a 988-acre coastal community about an hour south of Lisbon, with plans to build a private home. The development is designed to keep things intentionally low-key: less than 5 percent of the estate is slated for development, with pine forests, dunes, lakes, and protected Atlantic coastline surrounding the properties. Pinheirinho is also home to the new Six Senses Residences Comporta, a collection of 58 branded residences designed by Michaelis Boyd, though buyers can also purchase standalone lots.

If the reports are right, Verstappen also owns a rather on-brand property in the California desert. He has been linked to a villa at the Thermal Club, a private residential motorsports community outside Palm Springs where the racetrack is essentially the backyard. Homes range from about 8,000 to more than 13,000 square feet, with oversized garages built for serious car collections, while residents get access to 5.1 miles of private track and more than 20 configurations. A handful of reports have pegged Verstappen’s alleged villa at around $7 million.
