A few days ago, a number of posts on X about Grok.Bot showed in my feed, including Damon Chen’s below. Someone had apparently registered the Grok.Bot domain name and put it up for sale.

A post after Damon’s showed the owner of Grok.Bot apparently had a $1 million asking price for the domain name:

Later, the asking price was reduced to $300,000.

Unfortunately, for the registrant, it doesn’t look like X.AI is going to pay anything to acquire this domain name. In fact, the company filed a UDRP at the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) to get control over Grok.Bot.

Given the usage of the Grok term and the sales pitch on the landing page mentioning X.AI, I suspect this UDRP will go in favor of X.AI and the company will get the domain name. I’ll keep an eye on the UDRP and the domain name to see what happens.
