A close review of the viral video showed a Crime Tak watermark. A keyword search led us to the original video published on Crime Tak’s YouTube channel on 27 September 2026, featuring Phagwara SP Major Singh. The viral clip, from 09 to 27 seconds, contains statements about a student’s death and the rape allegations at LPU. However, these statements differ from the original footage, which shows Singh saying that the police had not received any complaint regarding rape and were ready to investigate if details were provided. We also noticed distortion around his face, as well as differences in his voice and manner of speech. The original video contains no statement linking the accused to the BJP or the Union Home Minister.

We then analysed the viral video using multiple AI voice detection tools, including Hive and Hiya. The analysis indicated that the audio was likely AI-generated or manipulated. This suggests that the original footage was paired with fabricated audio to make it appear that a Punjab Police officer said the accused in the LPU case is a BJP worker and Amit Shah’s nephew.
