SUSU and Investigative Committee Create New Opportunities for Schoolchildren and AI Development

Дата публикации: 01-10-2026 19:00:00

South Ural State University has signed two cooperation agreements with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chelyabinsk Region. The agreements are aimed at developing cadet education in our region and fostering cooperation in the field of artificial intelligence.
The first agreement provides for the establishment of cadet classes in schools across the Chelyabinsk Region. Seven educational institutions in our region are participating in this project: School No. 47 named after V.P. Pustovoy and School No. 15 in Chelyabinsk; School No. 3 named after Hero of Russia S.V. Zyablov in the Zlatoust Urban District; School No. 44 named after S.F. Baronenko in the Kopeysk Urban District; School No. 18 and Gymnasium No. 19 in the Miass Urban District; and School No. 9 in the Troitsk Urban District.
“This agreement concerns the education and development of children in the Investigative Committee’s cadet classes. It is important for us that students receive not only a general education, but also have an opportunity to learn about the specifics of investigative work, the profession itself, its tasks and requirements. We hope that in the future many of them will choose a professional path connected with the Investigative Committee,” said Major General of Justice Andrey Shchukin, Head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chelyabinsk Region.
SUSU, represented by its Institute of Law, will actively participate in the educational and extracurricular development of cadet class students. The university will provide methodological support to school teachers, organize educational intensives and career guidance events for cadets, and create opportunities for schoolchildren to interact with university faculty members and specialists.
“There will be many formats for working with the cadet classes, including methodological support for teachers, educational intensive courses, and career guidance events. We will be able to bring together schoolchildren from different municipalities at the university and help them deepen their knowledge of specialized subjects, including preparing for the Unified State Examination. But most importantly, we need to help students develop a conscious career path. It is important for SUSU to become the focal point of this project, bringing together schoolchildren, parents, teachers, and the Investigative Committee as a future employer. We also expect that graduates of the cadet classes will be able to continue their education at our university,” said Alexander Wagner, Rector of SUSU.
The cadet classes will serve as a platform for specialized training, introducing schoolchildren to the work of the Investigative Committee and fostering their interest in public service.
There are currently more than 430 cadet classes operating in the Chelyabinsk Region. Under the new project, seven more schools in our region will join this system. As Vitaly Litke, Minister of Education and Science of the Chelyabinsk Region, noted, an important part of the initiative will be introducing schoolchildren to their future profession while they are still at school.
“Our region is developing a systematic approach to career guidance for young people. A cadet class gives schoolchildren an opportunity to make decisions about their professional future at an earlier stage: to learn about the work of the Investigative Committee, take part in tours, and receive additional training in specialized subjects. It is particularly important that the project extends beyond Chelyabinsk and covers different municipalities. In this model, SUSU serves as a link, ensuring a seamless transition from specialized secondary education to higher education and further professional development,” Vitaly Litke emphasized.
The second agreement focuses on cooperation between SUSU and the Investigative Directorate in the field of artificial intelligence. The parties plan to combine the university’s research and educational potential with the practical expertise of Investigative Committee specialists, including in the development and implementation of advanced digital technologies.
“The second area of our cooperation with SUSU is the development of artificial intelligence. Today, this is one of the key technological challenges, and the law enforcement system must also make active use of the capabilities offered by modern technologies. It is important for us to develop this area jointly with SUSU, combining the university’s research potential with the practical experience of Investigative Committee personnel. I thank the university for supporting our initiative,” Andrey Shchukin stressed.
Cooperation in these two areas will bring together the partners’ educational, research, and practical expertise. The cadet classes will create additional opportunities for career guidance among schoolchildren, while joint work in artificial intelligence will provide a foundation for the development of advanced digital solutions.
