Pedestrian killed in hit-and-run in Hartford

A pedestrian has died after a hit-and-run in Hartford on Tuesday night.
Officers responded to the 500 block of Albany Avenue around 9:20 p.m. for a report of a serious crash involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian.
Once police arrived, they said they found 56-year-old Deborah Cooper, of Hartford, in the road with serious injuries.
She was transported to the hospital where she later died.
The motorcycle that is believed to have hit Cooper is described by police as a black and red Can-Am Spyder motorcycle. Authorities said the motorcycle fled from the scene northbound on Irving Street before police arrived.
The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the HPD Tip Line at (860) 722-TIPS.
