I noticed that no one had started the thread for the new year yet, so I figured I would kick off 2026 with an old favorite!Looks like we hit 23 pages last year, let's hope we continue to get more interest in South Atlantic regional beers!
I posted this to the Pastry Stout is Living thread, but I thought it would be a great beer to kick off the new year with!
Foothills BBA Sexual Chocolate. Always a favorite, and the last couple of years batches have been particularly good!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
I think our goal was to hit 20 pages for this thread last year and we hit 23 pages. Should we raise the bar to 25 pages for 2026?Getting into round 2 and having my last Sierra Society imperial stout from 2024. This one has aged well; some great barrel characteristics and flavor.
Cheers!
Tom
Cross Post with the Brown Ale threadDon't see a lot of brown ales anymore, but I do like the style.
Westbrook Brewing - A Very Fine Brown Ale - the beer definitely lives up to the name!
My first post of 2026. Good Word Brewing Auctioned Off All My Swords Oatmeal Stout 5.2%. How Todd comes up with these beer names, who knows. Always seems random. Very good effort here, as I would expect. Just like you like it: roasted malt, coffee, nutty, mildly bitter with a soft silky mouthfeel.
The board today.
I had to leave with some Die Todd Die Bohemian Pilsner. This is a great "everyday beer". Cracker-like malt, loads of spicy/herbal Saaz hops, and a crisp clean dry finish. Leaves you wanting more. Cheers!
Here is the story of Die Todd Die Pilsner. It is typical of Todd DiMatteo, how he relentlessly pursues perfection in his beers.

Cross post from WBAYDN:And now for something completely different.
Stumbled last summer into this 2021 blend of fermented Syrah grapes with Farmhouse ales. I miss Birds Fly South out of Greenville, SC as their Saisons and Farmhouse Ales were top-notch. This was a spendy nostalgic purchase.
It strikes my palate as more of an unadulterated Syrah wine but with a funky twist. In collaboration with Minnesota's BlackStack Brewing. A good, interesting experiment.
I gave my wife a sip and this was her reaction.
Cheers!

Fonta Flora Brewery - Snakes Beget Snakes
7.0% ABV West Coast Style IPA, 12th Anniversary Beer
Dry-hopped with Krush, Strata, and Citra; T90, Cryo, and Boost of all 3!
This was very tasty and quite drinkable. It's a more modern interpretation of the WCIPA style. Very interesting and enjoyable.Cross-posted in WBAYDN #4826
