Few things in this life are as dependable as a Costco food-court hot dog and the collective hysteria that ensues whenever the warehouse retailer drops a new item in the bakery section. This week’s object of obsession is the blueberry caramelized cheesecake croissant.

The cult-favorite Costco bakery item now comes in a new lemon flavor.

According to @Costcohotfinds on Instagram, lemon joins the original blueberry, which earned its reputation for a simple reason: it’s a buttery croissant filled with cheesecake, fruit, and a caramelized sugar topping. That’s three desserts in one trench coat, sold in a quantity no single household should reasonably consume. Luckily, reasonable has never been Costco’s (or my) way.

“Ok Costco…you got me. I’m gonna get a membership. Idc anymore that I have to drive over an hr to get there and over an hr back,” one hungry Instagram user commented on @Costcohotfinds’ reel.

Now, a pro tip from someone who has purchased more packages of blueberry caramelized cheesecake croissants than she cares to admit: pop them into the air fryer at 350 degrees for 2-3 minutes before consuming. That brief heating helps crisp up the caramel coating so it’s crunchier and less sticky.

Before you panic, don’t worry. It doesn’t appear that the beloved blueberry flavor is being replaced by lemon. @Costcohotfinds mentioned in the comments that the new flavor AND the original blueberry were both available in her Texas store. A six-pack of the new lemon flavor will cost you $12.99.

Some commenters reported seeing them in their local stores, while others regretfully informed us they had not landed at some locations yet. We don’t know when the new flavors will be available at all Costco locations, but we highly suggest checking the store closest to you at least once a week so you don’t miss out.

Whether lemon dethrones blueberry remains to be seen. Either way, clear some fridge space and your afternoon.
