Gareth Gates shot to fame in 2002 when he appeared on the first series of Pop Idol, becoming one of the UK's best-known young pop stars almost overnight. The singer was just 17 when he captured the hearts of viewers with his performances on the ITV talent show, eventually finishing as runner-up to Will Young. His version of Unchained Melody became a huge hit, helping launch a music career that would see him enjoy chart success and go on to perform in musical theatre. Fans of Gareth Gates can see the singer perform at Parkdean Resorts' Celebrity Weekender.

Gareth has been linked to several famous faces, including Katie Price, his ex-wife Suzanne Mole, actress Faye Brookes and DJ Chloe McLennan. Katie Price, formerly known as Jordan, claimed in her autobiography that she had an encounter with Gareth when he was 17. He later admitted in 2013 that he had initially denied it because he wanted to keep his sex life private from his family.

The singer married dancer Suzanne Mole in 2008 after meeting her in 2002. They welcomed daughter Missy in 2009 before separating in 2012. He then began dating Coronation Street actress Faye Brookes in 2013 after meeting her through Legally Blonde: The Musical. They got engaged in 2019 but later split.

Gareth reportedly met DJ Chloe McLennan in Ibiza in 2020. They dated for around two years before separating. The Pop Idols tar is currently dating West End actress and singer Allana Taylor. The couple first met in late 2022 while starring together in a pantomime production of Jack and the Beanstalk at Hull New Theatre (playing Jack and Jill).

The event is scheduled for Friday, November 13, 2026, as part of the park's Disco for Grown-Ups weekend. The line-up includes Gareth alongside Claire Richards and Ian H Watkins from Steps, The Fizz and Danny Foster and the Big Soul Corporation. Parkdean Resorts describes Gareth's appearance as an opportunity to enjoy “singalong tunes and pure nostalgia from one of Pop Idols superstars, Gareth Gates!”

The weekend combines live entertainment with a holiday park stay, giving guests the chance to enjoy performances and themed activities during a three-night break. For anyone who remembers watching Gareth on Pop Idol or grew up listening to his early chart hits, the event offers a chance to revisit the music that made him famous.

Three-night breaks for the Trecco Bay event were listed from £194 on Parkdean Resorts' Celebrity Weekender booking page when checked. Prices and availability can change, so guests should confirm the latest details before booking.
