President Trump declared Mike Rogers the runaway winner of Thursday night’s Michigan Senate debate, saying the Republican nominee “completely obliterated” Democrat Abdul El-Sayed.

“If this was a fight they would have stopped it,” Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.

And it nearly turned into one.

Rogers and El-Sayed traded insults, interrupted each other, and kept arguing through a commercial break.

Moderator Rick Albin struggled to get a word in.

“I’d like to be a part of the debate, too,” Albin joked.

After 30 years moderating debates, Albin said he’d never seen candidates continue fighting during the commercials.

Rogers accused El-Sayed of misrepresenting his medical credentials, calling him a “con man.”

The sharpest policy exchange came over Israel and Iran.

Asked which country posed the greater threat to America, El-Sayed refused to choose, calling the question “ridiculous.” He argued both countries had proven dangerous in different ways.

He also opposed using American taxpayer dollars to fund foreign wars when asked whether he’d support sending weapons to Israel if it came under attack.
