Some things are simply iconic and flowers are one of them.
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has unveiled “ICONIC” as the theme for the 2027 Philadelphia Flower Show, celebrating the organization’s 200th anniversary.
The show will explore how gardens have inspired everything from art and fashion to food, fragrance and film.
More than 30 major exhibitors will bring the theme to life through imaginative gardens, floral artistry and larger-than-life horticultural displays.
And for the first time, five of Pennsylvania’s most iconic public gardens will come together under one roof. The special showcase will feature Chanticleer Garden, Longwood Gardens, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden and The Arboretum at Penn State.

The floral festivities return to the Pennsylvania Convention Center March 12-21, 2027, with a special preview day for PHS members on March 12 before doors open to the public March 13.
“Iconic is a word we hear everywhere today, so we started by asking what it actually means for something to be iconic,” said Seth Pearsoll, Vice President and Creative Director of the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show. “We kept coming back to gardening’s remarkable ability to evolve while remaining relevant. It has been reimagined countless times, shaped by different cultures, artistic movements, and creative voices, yet continues to inspire us in new ways. ICONIC gives our exhibitors the freedom to explore that rich history while imagining what gardening can become next.”
