What's New: Informed Design for Dynamo — Public Beta
Informed Design for Dynamo is now available in Public Beta. This release brings the Informed Design API directly into Dynamo's visual programming environment through a dedicated node package. The package lets you browse products, create and manage variants, evaluate design rules, generate RFA outputs, and place configurable families into your Revit model — all without leaving Dynamo. Anyone with Dynamo and an Informed Design–enabled Autodesk account can now install the package and start building graphs against real Informed Design data.
What's New
Informed Design for Dynamo Public Beta is now available. The core workflow (Query → Products → Releases → Variants → Rules → RFA) is ready for hands-on use with your own products and releases, giving teams a reliable way to model, validate, and generate RFA content with confidence.
Compatibility & Prerequisites
Dynamo 3.6
An Autodesk account with access to Informed Design (Autodesk Construction Cloud, BIM 360, Fusion, Content Catalog, or Public access)
Active internet connection (the package communicates with the Informed Design cloud API)
How to Install
There are two ways to install the Informed Design Dynamo package.
Option A: Dynamo Package Manager
Open Dynamo and go to Packages → Search for a Package.
Search for Autodesk Informed Design.
Select the package and click Install.
Option B: Manual Installation
Obtain the package — download and unzip the Informed Design Dynamo package.
Copy to the Dynamo packages directory — place the entire package folder into:
%AppData%\Dynamo\Dynamo Revit\3.6\packages\
The resulting path should look like:
Restart Revit & Dynamo — after copying the files, restart Revit. Open Dynamo and the nodes will appear under the Informed Design category in the node library.
Verifying Installation
After launching Dynamo, expand the node library on the left panel. You should see the Informed Design category containing subcategories for Query, Products, Releases, Variants, Rules, RFA, Content Catalog, and Public nodes.
