Charli XCX suffered an awkward wardrobe malfunction while on the red carpet at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.

The singer, 34, bared it all as she arrived at the coveted awards show wearing a tiny black top and a matching long skirt.

The risqué shirt featured a sheer cut-out in the chest area, and the ensemble left her toned abs on full display.

But the Apple songstress accidentally showed a little too much at one point, as she endured an unfortunate nip slip while she was posing for cameras.

She appeared to be unfazed by the mishap, oozing confidence as she showed off her sultry look.

She accessorized with some chunky, silver rings and styled her dark locks in straight layers.

Charli is up for two awards at the VMAs including Best Art Direction and Best Pop for her song SS26.

The ceremony is taking place at the Peacock Theater in downtown Los Angeles. It kicked off at 7.30pm EST and is being hosted by Snoop Dogg.

It began with a raunchy performance by Madonna, which marked her long-awaited return to the awards show, 23 years after she last courted controversy at the ceremony.

Madonna stormed the stage alongside Sabrina Carpenter, performing their hit song Bring Your Love in a black satin outfit paired with sparkly shorts and suspenders. 

Afterwards, Charli joined Madonna for a surprise performance of the song Danceteria, as the pair bizarrely danced around the stage set up as a urinal. 

Fans were noticeably confused by the performance and accused the singer of lip syncing her track. 

The VMAs red carpet has become well known for its daring fashion, and this year was no exception, with tons of A-listers stepping out in head-turning ensembles.

In addition to Charli's daring look, an array of famous faces appeared on the red carpet wearing some very revealing outfits.

Singer JoJo, 35, opted for a black bra and a sweeping long skirt, while Tyla, 24, donned a daring blue snakeskin print skirt and bra two-piece.

Singer-songwriter Sombr, 21, was another star to flash his chest on the red carpet after opting for a pair of leather pants and oversized striped fur coat before accessorizing with a series of drooping necklaces and 'sex' belt. 

Beloved Real Housewives star Lisa Rinna, 63, opted for a very unconventional all-white ensemble that consisted of a plunging molded breast plate and flowing skirt with risqué thigh-high split.

Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor, 35, looked nothing short of sensational in a sultry, plunging black lace gown by Zuhair Murad Couture. 

Elsewhere on the red carpet, Normani sent temperatures soaring in a jaw-dropping dark metallic gown complete with an intricate floral embellishment.
