The UAE’s Vox Cinemas has announced that, as of today – Tuesday September 29, 2026 – Marvel fans will be able to book tickets to see the next installment of the Russo brothers’ Avengers saga.

Avengers: Doomsday doesn’t actually hit screens for another couple of months (debuting on Wednesday, December 16 – a full two days before American audiences will get to see it), but if the recent booking frenzies for Odyssey and fellow Marvel alumni flick, Spider-Man: Brand New Day are anything to go by, getting in early makes total sense. Lock in those spoiler-avoiding privileges.

If you’re in the target demographic for booking tickets to a superhero movie two and a half months early, you probably don’t need the back story or the details of this new entry into canon nerd-splained to you. But, in the tradition of all the best big screen villains, we’re going to explain the plot before it gets carried out, anyway.

Avengers: Doomsday is the 39th movie in the MCU filmography, and introduces the nefarious shenanigans of temporally-fluid, uber menace, Victor Von Doom AKA Doctor Doom. It follows the events of recent big screen releases such as Thunderbolts and The Fantastic Four: First Steps (in reality the recommended warm-up watchlist stretches to about 10 films, and the entirety of the two seasons of Loki), and is expected to be much darker than previous Russo-driven Avengers outings, with a substantial body count.

The superhero contingent squaring up to the forces of Doom, will have a very different look to the last outing and is set to include: the Avengers, the Wakanda ensemble, and New Avengers from Earth-616 (team Thunderbolt); the Fantastic Four from Earth-828; and the X-Men from Earth-10005. We might not be getting much of the comic relief usually associated with the genre, but we can almost certainly expect expansions on the obligatory fan-pleasing cameos, timeline tangos and exotic Easter eggs.

This is the drive towards the collapse of the Multiverse saga, the penultimate film in MCU’s Phase Six, and platforms a rebirth for Robert Downey Jr. whose character (spoilers ahead), Tony Stark/Iron Man met an emotional exit in Avengers: Endgame. This time round he’ll be wearing the metallic mask of Doctor Doom, what remains to be seen is weather or not Victor and Tony are some form of chimeric variant of each other in this telling.

As mentioned, tickets are available to book now – either online via the uae.voxcinemas.com website, or the mobile app.
