The longtime friends, who appear throughout the series, met with fans and took part in a Q&A after a special screening at the Metro Vancouver arena of the first two episodes of the six-part Amazon Prime Video series, which debuts today. The event was held at the home of the Vancouver Giants, the Western Hockey League team at the centre of the show.
The series is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Scott Brothers Entertainment for Prime Video with Scott and Bublé, who are co-owners of the team, as executive producers.

Before the screening, Bublé, who is from Burnaby, and Scott, who grew up in Maple Ridge and lives in North Vancouver, sat down to talk about the series that chronicles the junior hockey team during the 2025-26 WHL season.
“This is all about community,” Bublé said. “This is about our hometown and being able to come together. Two kids from these stomping grounds, being able to come back and be a part of growing our community and pulling everyone together, is phenomenal.”

Scott, best known for co-hosting the televisions shows Property Brothers and Celebrity IOU with his brother Jonathan, joined the ownership group in 2023.
“When I was coming to the team and Mike and I were talking, I didn’t want to just join as another celebrity face if I wasn’t contributing,” said Scott, who has been producing factual television for two decades. “We were trying to think about what skill sets I have that we could actually bring to the team.”
With the Giants’ only WHL championship coming in 2007, Scott said the owners began considering how to revitalize excitement around the team.
The concept became clear as Scott got to know the players and realized their stories were worth highlighting. Amazon agreed.
“Whether you like hockey or not, the kids’ journey — the ups and downs, the emotional journey — is something anyone can relate to,” Scott said.
Michael Bublé and wife Luisana Lopilato were at the Langley Events Centre on Thursday night at an event to celebrate the new Amazon Prime Video series Hometown Giants. The six-part series, that dropped today, follows the WHL’s Vancouver Giants during the team’s 2025-26 season. Photo by Arlen Redekop /PNGFor Bublé, a self-described “failed NHL wannabe,” a show that pulls back the curtain on a hockey team is something he has wanted since childhood.
“This is the first time we’ve seen this kind of access to hockey,” Bublé said. “I never even dreamed there could be this kind of access.”
The first season follows the Giants through a difficult campaign in which they finished outside the playoffs with a 25-39 record. At press time, the Giants were 4-2-1 this season.
While Bublé said he was disappointed by last season’s outcome as both an owner and a hockey fan, he also learned something about reality television.
“The producers were so happy, smiling all the time,” Bublé said. “I was like, ‘Why, why, why are you smiling?’ And they were saying, ‘Because, you couldn’t write this.’”
