A 17-year-old accused of shooting three teens, including one fatally, at a First Friday event in downtown Las Vegas left his wallet at the scene, helping police quickly identify him as a suspect, according to newly released police records.

Issac Manriquez has been arrested on suspicion of murder, attempted murder and other charges in the Friday shooting near Main Street and Charleston Boulevard that killed Carth Onasi Jacobs-Rodgers, 15.

The 10:17 p.m. shooting, which was described by police as gang-related, unfolded during a melee in which several teens were involved in fist fights at the crowded public event before shots rang out.

The Metropolitan Police Department said in an arrest report for Manriquez that much of the melee — including the shooting — was captured on video.

Detectives said they found a wallet on the ground while processing the crime scene. Inside the wallet was a credit card belonging to Manriquez, police said.

Also in the wallet was a Regional Transportation Commission bus receipt. Police obtained video surveillance from the RTC showing Manriquez arriving in the area. Police said the gunman depicted in the melee and subsequent shooting was wearing the same clothing as Manriquez was when he was riding on the bus.

“Once interviewed by detectives, Manriquez admitted to the shooting, which occurred because of two gangs roaming the First Friday event ‘banged’ on each other,” police said in the report.

Police described Manriquez as a member of the Westside Loco Boys gang. The fights broke out, they said, when someone from another gang, Clanton 14, spit toward a Loco Boys member.

Police said they also used cellphone data to place Manriquez at the First Friday event.

Manriquez appeared briefly before Las Vegas Justice of the Peace Suzan Baucum early Thursday. Baucum told Manriquez that he would be held without bail and that further court proceedings in his case were delayed until Tuesday.
