The striker has been granted permission to travel to Germany ahead of an initial loan move.

The deal includes an option to buy, and Fullkrug is willing to give up part of his salary to help the move happen.

The 33-year-old, who has a contract with West Ham until 2028, is returning to the club where he started his professional career.

He spent last season loan to AC Milan scoring one goal in 20 games.

He cost West Ham £27m from Dortmund in 2024 and scored three goals.

Ennis joined United's academy in 2021 and was in their FA Youth Cup-winning squad the following year, before being promoted to the Under-21s.

He got his first taste of senior football with a loan to Doncaster Rovers, and last season appeared 46 times as part of a temporary switch to Fleetwood Town, scoring six goals and providing eight assists.

As Daily Mail Sport reported over the weekend, Lille have been fighting to keep the midfielder for one more season, but City and the player want to seal a move now.

Lille coach Davide Ancelotti explained why Bouaddi is wanted by Manchester City following Lille’s friendly at Everton, saying:  ‘Bouaddi is a very good player. He is available (in terms of his fitness) and he played 45 minutes. But that is only because I have to manage his minutes. Next week we start the season and I consider him as an available player for me.

‘Of course, there are negotiations. There is interest from so many clubs. He is a really, really good player and I hope that he is going to stay with us! What makes him so special? He has a huge personality.

‘He is incredibly intelligent on and off the pitch, he is really mature. He is 18 years old but he looks like he is 32 when he is on the pitch. Technically he is really complete. He is also physical, really strong in duels. He’s going to be one of the best midfielders in Europe for the next 10 years.’
