When I push updates to the pass, with a cute little text message a few of the 150 people participating in the experiment send me a screenshot, a twitter dm, a discord tag, or make a post with excitment, over the games in the wallet ui, the photo album art in the wallet ui, as founders reach out to speak about integration, as people brainstorm ideas excitedly over google meets with me and discord calls I can only offer more of my time to anyone that wants to build something with this.
Launching the test net experiment publicly and organically was the best thing I’ve done in crypto hahaha
But on a more serious note
shipped a bunch since the last post and could use more eyes on both the spec and the code.
what’s new

Nexory did a security review of our production deployment. five findings, all fixed and credited in the notes. the biggest change: device registrations are now refused at the cap instead of evicting the oldest, and a token rotation supersedes old registrations instead of deleting them. a forwarded pass can’t push the real holder’s phone off updates anymore
pushed a second game to all 161 live cards this week. no app, no re-mint, same pass. that’s the whole point of the standard and it keeps working
also wrote up three things we learned running this in production, in the implementation notes on the PR: when Apple actually shows a notification for a pass update (and when it doesn’t), how we rotate a pass when the NFT changes hands so the old owner’s card goes dead, and how many devices one pass can register before new ones get refused.

if you run a pass issuer, point the conformance cli at it and post the report here. it checks every MUST in the spec and exits 0 if you pass, 1 if you don’t:

one question for the thread: our SDK returns a couple of error codes that aren’t in the ERC’s refusal table. should i change the SDK to match the spec, or change the spec to match the SDK? i’m leaning change the SDK
