(LifeSiteNews) — A Canadian government department has been ordered to pay compensation to a Christian worker who lost her job because she refused the COVID shots due to their abortion-tainted connections.
In a recent ruling, Canada’s federal labour board said that Michelle Tati, who worked as a passport clerk with Employment and Social Development Canada, must be compensated. The department was ordered to pay her $5,000 in initial compensation.
Tati had asked for a religious exemption to the COVID shots. After she was denied, she was put on unpaid leave from February to June 2022. The department had rejected her religious exemption request, saying it did not state clearly that her Christian faith stopped her from getting the shots.
However, according to Tati, she argued that her collective work agreement, along with Canada’s Human Rights Act, were violated by the department’s COVID jab mandate. The department did not agree, claiming Tati’s request was personal and secular in origin.
Tati’s exemption request was rejected in January 2022 by the department. She was then placed on unpaid leave after she refused to get the shots as a condition for work.
The department’s workplace COVID jab mandate was suspended in June 2022.
Tati had submitted in an affidavit stating that she was opposed to the COVID shots connected to fetal cell lines that came from multiple abortions. She said that “a child in its mother’s womb is already a human being.”
She added that taking such a vaccine would be “tantamount to betraying God and compromising her faith” as she said it would make her complicit in and indirect way to abortions.
Also, Tati’s mom had died after getting vaccinated in 2021, giving her “very little trust in the vaccine since then.”
In October 2021, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced unprecedented COVID-19 shot mandates for all federal workers and those in the transportation sector and said that the unvaxxed would no longer be able to travel by air, boat, or train, both domestically and internationally.
This policy resulted in thousands losing their jobs or being placed on leave for non-compliance.
Adjudicator sides with discriminated Christian workerBieniasiewicz noted that the department had violated Tati under Canada’s Human Rights Act and her collective work agreement.
After a review, adjudicator Adrian Bieniasiewicz ruled that the department was in the wrong and “When assessing sincerity, the court must ensure only that the alleged belief is advanced in good faith, that it is neither fictitious nor capricious, and that it is not a contrivance.”
Bieniasiewicz noted that courts should not be the arbitrators of religious beliefs or try and rule on one’s theology.
“It is not the validity of the belief that must be demonstrated, but its sincerity,” he stated.
“That said, I am of the view that the grievor’s beliefs are related to religion.”
Bieniasiewicz also noted that Tati “added that becoming vaccinated without His approval would be disobedience and would change her relationship with him.”
“I see no material inconsistency or contradiction in the grievor’s evidence in support of her request for an exemption,” he ruled.
The department was ordered to pay Tati $5,000 plus additional compensation for overtime hours lost. However, her original request of $7,500 for overtime and $20,000 for pain and suffering along with an extra $20,000 for discrimination was not approved.
Tati’s case is one of many recent rulings that have gone in favor of Canadians who have refused workplace COVID jab mandates and were discriminated against.
As reported by LifeSiteNews, a few months ago, a Canadian labor ruled in favor of a Christian man who refused to comply with a workplace COVID shot mandate due to his objection that the shots used aborted babies’ cell lines in their development. The man was denied a religious exemption and was suspended from his job.
As also reported by LifeSiteNews, a court in Poland ruled in favor of a Canadian embassy employee who was effectively pushed out of her job for not complying with
Canada’s now-defunct mandatory COVID jab decree for federal workers.
LifeSiteNews has published an extensive amount of reporting about the dangers of the experimental COVID shots, which include heart damage and blood clots.
The shots have been linked to a multitude of negative and often severe side effects, including in children, and all have connections to cell lines derived from aborted babies.
