Aaron Glenn used his midweek press conference to pay his respects towards this week’s opponents, the New England Patriots.

A big divisional matchup takes place in the AFC East between the 3-2 New England Patriots and the 2-3 New York Jets.

The Patriots have won two successive games against the Bills and Raiders to get back above .500, while the Jets won their most recent game, defeating the Browns.

Aaron Glenn’s press conference began by revealing injuries are likely to sideline Breece Hall and Adonai Mitchell again, before he paid tribute to the Patriots.

Glenn revealed he is particularly wary about Patriots returner Marcus Jones, who he referred to by the number on his jersey.

He said: “On special teams, we always got to be aware of the returner ’25’. Just looking at the stats, he’s been one of the top returners in the league for the past couple of years. So we got to be on point when it comes to him.”

Marcus Jones is averaging 9.8 yards per return this season, which is down from his 17.3 yards per return last season. It could be only a matter of time before he breaks a big one. He set a Patriots franchise record with an 87-yard return touchdown last season against the Panthers.

The Jets have allowed no return touchdowns this season.

Patriots quarterback Drake Maye has bounced back from early season criticism. He has contributed eight touchdowns over his past two games, displaying the form that delivered MVP nomination last year.

Glenn said: “Our guys will be ready for it. A tough team, good players. Obviously, their guy was up for the MVP last year. The last couple of weeks, man, he’s been running really, really well. And one thing about the offense, they’ve been pushing the ball down the field.”

He added that Maye is “showing who he really is”, and the Jets defense will have to perform at a high level to keep him quiet.
