Bild journalist Leon Potuzhek believes reports suggesting that top clubs such as Real Madrid and Arsenal are keeping tabs on VfB Stuttgart centre-back Finn Jeltsch are hardly surprising.

Speculation surrounding the future of VfB Stuttgart centre-back Finn Jeltsch has increased lately.

Having previously been linked with English top clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester United, the 20-year-old is now being mentioned as a transfer target for Real Madrid by Spanish media.

For Bild editor Leon Potuzhek, it’s hardly surprising that Real Madrid and other top clubs are being touted as potential suitors for the Germany international given his potential.

“Obviously, they have him on the radar,” Potuzhek said on the VfB Stuttgart-focused podcast VfB Blickwinkel when discussing the reported interest from Real Madrid.

As an indication of how highly rated Jeltsch is, Transfermarkt values the youngster at €35 million, giving him the joint second-highest market value among defenders born in 2006, behind Chelsea’s Jorrel Hato (€40 million) and level with Tottenham Hotspur’s Archie Gray.

“Clubs that aren’t scouting a guy like Finn Jeltsch aren’t working seriously,” Potuzhek claimed.

“He’s simply one of the biggest talents we have in Germany overall, and one of the biggest defensive talents in the world. So of course every top club have Jeltsch on their list.”

Jeltsch recently received his first Germany call-up and could make his senior international debut against Serbia on Thursday.
