Salone del Mobile.Milano will launch Salone Contract, a new initiative targeting large-scale design projects, at its 65th edition in April 2027, as the furniture industry faces slowing exports, inflation pressures and uncertainty across international markets.

Salone Contract intends to address demand for integrated solutions across complex projects, bringing together products, services and expertise across various sectors. Salone Contract will be making its debut with the Masterplan by Rem Koolhaas and David Gianotten / OMA,  the new Forum dedicated to the design market and the collaboration with PwC.

Running from April 13 to 18, 2027, at Rho Fiera Milano, the event will also see the return of Euroluce, the biennial lighting exhibition, and the second edition of The Euroluce International Lighting Forum. Salone Raritas will expand its scope and geographical reach, while SaloneSatellite will continue to showcase emerging design talent.

“The 2027 edition of the Salone del Mobile. Milano comes at a particularly complex time for the sector, marked by slowing exports, inflationary pressures and an international context that makes planning difficult. But it is precisely during this sort of phase that continuing to invest becomes crucial. To this end, the Salone continues to be the best tool for businesses at international level. It is no coincidence that the event’s ability to renew and reinvent itself has led to the creation of a concrete project that aspires to become a fixed, globally unique event: Salone Contract, an exhibition that will help companies expand their business in the coming years,” said Claudio Feltrin, president of Federlegno Arredo.

“Generating growth opportunities for exhibitors is the compass that has always guided the decisions determined by the Salone’s governance: putting them in touch with designers, architects, hospitality operators, offices and large public and private clients. The wood-furnishing supply chain is ready for the challenge, aware that it must make a qualitative leap to respond to larger-scale projects and business.”

Euroluce marks the return of a biennial event dedicated to lighting design, at a time when light is taking on a multifaceted role in contemporary design. The Salone first embarked on this path in 2023, when Euroluce became the first major event to transform the trade fair model with The City of Lights. The traditional stand-centred layout was reimagined through an urban and human-centred approach, designed to enhance the companies’ visibility and opportunities.

Euroluce will return following its 2025 edition, which brought together 306 exhibitors, 45 per cent of which came from abroad. The 2027 programme will include The Euroluce International Lighting Forum, directed by Annalisa Rosso, which will explore lighting’s relationship with energy, the environment and nature, as well as its role in architecture and interior spaces.

In 2027, the forum will be back in The Forest of Space, the arena designed by Sou Fujimoto for the 2025 edition.

Among the confirmed participants is Speirs Major Light Architecture, a lighting design studio with offices in London and Tokyo that has received four Radiance Awards from the International Association of Lighting Designers.

The 2026 edition of the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace3.0 and S.Project brought together 915 exhibitors from 32 countries, with 38.6 per cent coming from abroad.

The events featured 139 brands, including new and returning exhibitors. The Salone reported 316,342 visitors from 167 countries, with international trade visitors accounting for 68 per cent of the total.

The Salone World Tour will also continue in 2027, with a North American visit planned. Further details have yet to be announced.
