If turrets, treachery and a property with heaps of history and charm sound like a great holiday but you don't fancy Scotland, then don't despair - for there are some spectacular alternative filming locations where the overseas versions of The Traitors come to life. 

The new series of UK Celebrity Traitors kicks off tonight - but the hit show, which began in the Netherlands in 2021, has spawned more than 30 copycat versions around the world. 

The US, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, France, Germany, Canada, India, Spain, Italy and Norway amongst other destinations all film their own take on the series. 

'Traitors Tourism' has been known to boost local economies, as fans of the reality show travel specifically to visit filming locations.

In the UK, the series has contributed £21.8million to the Scottish economy alone and there are plenty of stays across the country perfect for a Traitors-inspired trip.

Many of the real-life filming locations for the international versions of the show are also open to guests, and Eurochange has revealed some of the best. 

Castle Claremont, in Timaru, on New Zealand's South Island, has been used as the filming spot for The Traitors in the Southern Hemisphere. 

The stately abode dates back to the 1880s and has everything needed for a thrillingly treacherous getaway. 

Guests are treated to a dramatic sweeping staircase and 14 bedrooms to choose from, as well as access to a library and billiard room. 

It was the filming location for just New Zealand's version of the show until earlier this year when Australia started to use it too.  

Price? The cost of staying at this Traitors castle per person, per night comes to just $80 NZD (£34.39).

Surrounded by 160 hectares of lush forests and gardens is Château de Bournel, in Cubry, France.

The beautiful region borders Alsace and Switzerland, providing a stunning backdrop for an escape for any Faithful or Traitor.

The private 600-year-old family estate is where the French version of The Traitors comes to life, and it's not surprising with its grand chandeliers, dramatic hallways and pristine grounds.

Price? A night at the luxurious hotel starts from €65 (£55.89) per person. 

Return flights from London Gatwick, Manchester and Bristol to Basel, Switzerland (the closest airport) for £31 per person.

Over in Canada, mega fans of The Traitors can check into Manoir Rouville-Campbell – an impressive estate located at the foot of Mont Saint-Hilaire in Quebec.

The mansion dates back to the 1860s and in true Traitors style, boasts a striking neo-Gothic and Tudor design.

It's the filming location for the show in Canada and when Traitors and Faithfuls aren't battling it out, the property is a hotel and restaurant.   

Price? A night per person costs from C$102 (£54.59).

Perhaps one of the most jaw-dropping spots from The Traitors' international fold is Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer city. 

Located in the heart of the Thar Desert, in the colourful region of Rajasthan, the golden yellow sandstone building is used as the base for The Traitors India. 

It also operates as a five-star hotel and wedding venue, with many a guest enjoying the medieval fort-like architecture and surrounding untouched landscapes. 

Price? The cost to stay one night per person starts from ₹5,000 (£39.41).

The Traitors first launched in Ireland in 2025 and the popular show, hosted by Siobhán McSweeney, takes place in one of the country's most famous castles – Slane.

Built in 1785, the castle is set in the middle of a 1,500 acre estate in the heart of the Boyne Valley, in County Meath.

The grounds also boast a distillery, which produces triple-casked Irish whiskey. 

Price? Rooms start from €246 (£212.04) per person, per night.

Once a Cistercian monastery built in the 12th century, Monasterio de Piedra is the filming location for the second season of Traitors España.

It also operates as a hotel, spa and national park complex in Spain's Zaragoza province.

Rooms vary from double standard with views of the monastery entrance or the old cloister, to double premium looking out onto the park.

Guests can enjoy the Piedra River in the historic garden park, which also features a 50-metre-tall waterfall, Cola Del Caballo.
