Revolut Bank, one of the leading digital banks in Hungary and across the European Economic Area, today announced the successful completion of the migration of more than 2 million eligible Hungarian retail customers to the local branch and can now access Revolut’s Hungarian bank accounts.

  • As part of the migration process, more than 2 million eligible Hungarian retail customers have been successfully migrated to the Hungarian branch of Revolut Bank UAB
  • Local customers can now use Hungarian Revolut bank accounts for their everyday banking needs
  • Revolut’s growth in Hungary remains strong: nearly half a million new customers joined the platform in 2025, and today, on average, one Hungarian customer joins Revolut every minute
  • The number of monthly active customers increased by more than 40% in 2025, while the number of customers receiving their salary into a Revolut account grew by more than 30%*

The rollout of the Hungarian branch represents an important milestone in strengthening Revolut’s local presence. With the migration process, Revolut further reinforces its long-term commitment to the Hungarian market, deepens its integration with the local financial infrastructure, and allows the company to work even closer with local authorities. As Revolut continues to grow in Hungary, it will also expand its local team and capabilities to support local customers and future product development. Services provided through the local branch, including Hungarian bank accounts, will enable Revolut to deliver an even more tailored banking experience for Hungarian customers.

Revolut’s growth in Hungary remains strong. The company acquired nearly half a million new customers in Hungary during 2025, and today, on average, one new customer joins Revolut every minute in the country. At the same time, the number of monthly active customers increased by more than 40% in 2025, while the number of customers receiving their salary into a Revolut account grew by more than 30%. Gábor Petrás, Country Manager of Revolut Bank UAB Hungarian Branch, said:

“The successful migration of more than 2 million customers marks a significant milestone in Revolut’s development in Hungary. Over the past few years, we have consistently seen our customers use Revolut across more areas of their financial lives, from everyday spending and savings to receiving their salaries.

The availability of Hungarian bank accounts is another important step towards making banking even simpler and more convenient for our customers. Our goal remains to provide a comprehensive financial ecosystem within a single app that helps customers get more from their money and gives them greater control over their finances.”

Hungarian Bank Accounts Simplify Everyday Banking

Offering a local bank account is essential for a financial provider to serve as a customer’s primary banking relationship. Revolut’s Hungarian bank accounts make everyday money management easier, whether it is receiving a salary, making regular transfers, or handling day-to-day banking activities more conveniently.

Combined with the full ecosystem of products available through the Revolut app — including everyday banking, savings, investments, budgeting tools, and additional financial and travel services — this further strengthens Revolut’s position among customers looking to manage their finances through a single app.
